Quinn Malin Szekeresh, “Little Warrior”

Our beloved son, Quinn Malin Szekeresh, passed away on Thursday April 15th, 2021 after courageously battling illness following multiple Bone Marrow Transplants, in the course of treatment for his CGD.

Quinn was an incredible kid. Born on July 20, 2019, he arrived only four quick days after moving into our new home. For each of his family members, Quinn held a unique, irreplaceable role:

For his brother Ames, Quinn was a best friend. Quinn studied and admired everything Ames did for the first year of life. As soon as he could, Quinn joined in tickle-fests, jumping on the bed, games of soccer, and playing peek-a-boo around the kitchen island.

For his father, Daniel, he saw a reflection of himself in Quinn. Also a younger brother, Daniel admired Quinn’s adventurous spirit and gregarious nature and tried to foster these innate qualities and model them back to his two boys.

For his mom, Sarah, Quinn was a constant companion. From early morning hikes, to rolling pasta for dinner, to cuddling on the couch each night, Quinn and “mama” were at each other’s side, happy partners in exploring this world together.

Quinn’s life was short, but filled with travel, celebrations, music, books, play, picnics, adventures at home, and so much love. His family and friends, both near and far, miss him terribly—-his outgoing humor, contagious laugh, big smile, unstoppable strength, and boundless soul. We love you always, our peach.
