Flying Pig Marathon + Quinn’s Picnic


The Quinn Malin Szekeresh Memorial Club is back for another year of running the Flying Pig Marathon. We have people signing up for a number of different events, including the 50 West 1m, 5k (walkers and runners), 10k (runners, thus far), the half and full. All are welcome and we would love to see you too! This annual event has become such a cherished, special time together and way to remember our incredible kiddo.

Update May 3rd 10:30am: great job to all of the 10k runners! With the rain delay until 12pm of the 5k, we are regrouping at Mount Lookout Tavern. I’ll post further updates here as I have them!



Friday, May 3rd

  • 50 West Mile - 7pm @ Riverfront Transit Tunnel

Saturday, May 4th

  • 10k - 7am start @ Mehring Way

  • 5k - 12pm delay start @ Mehring Way

    @Mount Lookout Tavern to regroup with the rain -10:30am

  • Booth Cheering + Meet up - typically 8am-12pm @ Smale Park #38 near Roebling Bridge

  • Quinn Memorial Picnic - 4pm @ Veteran’s Park (8531 Forest Road).
    Please let us know if you plan to attend by noon EDT Sunday, April 28th. If you miss this date, no problem, please come—we just want to get the pizza order in place!


Sunday, May 5th

  • Half Marathon - 6:30am start

  • Marathon - 6:30am start

  • Victory Party @ booth - typically until 2-3pm @ Smale Park #38 near Roebling Bridge


QMS Booth @ Smale Park

Whether you are running, walking, or cheering, please stop by our booth! We will be at booth #38 this year near the west side of the Roebling Bridge in Smale Park. This is a great spot to meet up with friends and fellow racers. This year, we’ll have some updates to share, including photos, information about events later this year, patches, and an activity or two. All are welcome, please stop by!
